LadenHow to become a CMAS instructor?
There are different ways to become a CMAS instructor. Please choose the wight option, depending on your current diving rating. Fees are listed below.
You are already a diving instructor: cross-over option
If you are already certified as an international diving instructor regarding the ISO 24802-2 / DIN EN 14413-2 standards, you can participate in a cross-over class.
The duration of this class is normally two days, you have to teach one topic out of the education material from CMAS* / CMAS** students. You have to do two dives showing the CMAS relevant practices like ascending with sharing one regulator, rescue of unconscious diver etc. At least you have to do a short multiple choise test.
Open Water Diver instructor will be CMAS instructor *, higher ratings will become CMAS instructor**
There is no cross-over option for higher ratings like instructor trainer or course director, therefore we cann offer special deals, please contact us per email
You are not an instructor yet or
you will get an higher instructor rating?
Therefore you have to participate in an instructor education (IDC) / instructor exam (IE)
The combination of IDC / IE is one week in total.
To become CMAS instructor * you have to fulfil the following requirements:
- certified as an assistent instructor at any diving agency
- minimum 18 years old
- own an actual medical exam
- a minimum of 150 dives
- you or your diving center has a liability insurance for you
- certified as an open water or CMAS* instructor for minimum one year
- minimum 20 years old
- own an actual medical exam
- a minimum of 300 dives
- you or your diving center has a liability insurance for you
- oxygen provider seminar
- certified as an open water or CMAS** instructor for minimum one year
- minimum 23 years old
- own an actual medical exam
- a minimum of 500 dives
- you or your diving center has a liability insurance for you
- oxygen provider seminar
- assistance at a CMAS instructor examination
- practical application of an CMAS instructor examination
Tec Diving Instructor
We also offer Tec instructor classes and cross-over classes; if youo are interested in becoming an S.U.B. International Tec Diving Instructor, please send us your actual tec-diving certifications and we will proof the possibilities.
Who is S.U.B. International
S.U.B. International is an independend training agency, offering recreational diving education in accordance with the CMAS standards. S.U.B. also owns a license of CMAS and is allowed to train and certify CMAS diving instructors.

Whats the price for becoming an instructor?
We can offer cross-over classes for € 300,- per candidate, the whole IDC/IE combination is € 1200,-
